Catching Up

[8:27:33 AM] Katie Symington: goooood morning!
[8:29:08 AM] Troy Symington: Whatcha mean by "morning"! It's 5:30 over here!
[8:29:14 AM] Katie Symington: hee
[8:29:27 AM] Katie Symington: Well it is 8:30 here, and I just woke up. :)
[8:29:43 AM] Troy Symington: Ha. What are you up to today?
[8:30:10 AM] Katie Symington: First I will eat a yummy chocolate waffle
[8:30:38 AM] Troy Symington: Oooh La La!
[8:30:55 AM] Katie Symington: Exactly. Then I will probably call my Thank You Rewards help assistance to figure out how to use my thank you points for my flight to Kauai.
[8:31:07 AM] Katie Symington: Using those points, it totally knocks off like 200 bucks! :)
[8:31:17 AM] Katie Symington: Then I will call Andra and we will book our flights. YAY!
[8:31:46 AM] Troy Symington: Awesome! So you did decide to go after all!
[8:32:26 AM] Katie Symington: Yep! It will be expensive but it is also a great deal and will be worth it, and I probably won't ever have a chance to do this again with Andra.
[8:32:59 AM] Troy Symington: Did Nick decide to go with you?
[8:33:57 AM] Katie Symington: Nope, he is going to stay here because there isn't enough room at the resort, unfortunately. It will be more of a girl trip. ..Then Aubrey turns 3 years old so Nick and I will pick up a present and go to the Rich's bbq at 3:00 where he can meet everybody for the first time. Poor boy. ;)
[8:35:22 AM] Troy Symington: Aubrey turns 3 today?
[8:35:40 AM] Katie Symington: In two days actually, but her celebration is today.
[8:35:55 AM] Troy Symington: Awesome! Tell everyone hi for me!
[8:36:09 AM] Katie Symington: I totally will! What shall I tell them you are up to?
[8:36:49 AM] Troy Symington: Awesomeness!
[8:37:28 AM] Katie Symington: ...otherwise known as . . . ?
[8:37:42 AM] Troy Symington: Italian stuff...
[8:37:46 AM] Troy Symington: ?
[8:38:24 AM] Katie Symington: DUDE. Speak.
[8:39:50 AM] Troy Symington: Today I'm just being lazy and have been writing a song on Garageband all day.
[8:40:03 AM] Katie Symington: And tomorrow?
[8:40:45 AM] Katie Symington: Mom always says on these chats that I talk more than you. It is your turn. You tell me all about what you are up to, and I will comment. Capice?
[8:42:47 AM] Troy Symington: Just so ya know, capisce is the conjugated form of the verb capire but it's the form for he/she/it. You want to say "capisci" for "you understand".
[8:43:01 AM] Katie Symington: Okay, thank you. CAPISCI?
[8:43:34 AM] Troy Symington: NO!
[8:44:06 AM] Katie Symington: I will let Oz pee on your bed!
[8:45:04 AM] Troy Symington: And you'll have to clean it up before I get home!
[8:45:18 AM] Katie Symington: Nope. It will be left for you as a welcome home present.
[8:45:26 AM] Katie Symington: OR you could tell me what you've been up to! :D
[8:45:57 AM] Troy Symington: *sigh* ... fine.
[8:46:11 AM] Katie Symington: speaky speak
[8:48:17 AM] Troy Symington: Yesterday Alec and I went to Siena for the day. We didn't spend too long there but we saw everything that we're supposed to see. It's a pretty cool city. Today I seriously have not left the apartment. Tomorrow I have school from 9:30 until 4 and then I'm probably just gonna wander the city aimlessly and see some of the remaining things that I need to see! It's so weird that we only have like 2 weeks left!
[8:48:56 AM] Katie Symington: It has gone by very quickly but I will be glad when you are home. I miss you buddy!
[8:49:03 AM] Katie Symington: Tell me about the food you've had.
[8:49:07 AM] Troy Symington: Ha, I miss you too!
[8:49:18 AM] Troy Symington: Food from where?
[8:50:15 AM] Troy Symington: P.S. You're making my computer run slower so I can't get anything done on Garageband because it keeps stopping because the song is too complicated.
[8:50:41 AM] Katie Symington: pooooooor boy. suffer!
[8:51:07 AM] Katie Symington: food from everywhere! What was for dinner? Lunch? Breakfast? What is your favorite? What do you not like? How often do you get the coffees?
[8:53:14 AM] Troy Symington: I dunno, this last week or so I've just been cooking stuff here at home or eating cheaply. I finally had some Italian Mexican food a few days back! The nachos were really good...
[8:53:35 AM] Katie Symington: how were they different from American-Mexican?
[8:55:58 AM] Troy Symington: They weren't really. But the Italians do not eat very much mexican food at all, and they DO NOT eat spicy food. It's nearly impossible to find the ingredients in the stores. Gabe got some tortillas to make fajitas last week, and they were THE WORST tortillas I have ever had the displeasure of tasting!
[8:56:28 AM] Katie Symington: oh no! ....what made them gross? I had tortillas last night, they were yummy!
[8:59:53 AM] Troy Symington: They... were on the verge of not being able to be called tortiallas. But I dunno, the problem is they were the only tortiallas that we've actually seen available to buy in stores!
[9:00:23 AM] Katie Symington: poor boy. Now tell me more about the coffee you have had!
[9:02:17 AM] Troy Symington: A lot of the time I just make instant coffee here at the apartment. But when I do actually get it from a bar (cafe) I'll either get expresso, a cappuccino, or a cafe latte. They're always really good no matter what bar I get them from, but they're always really small cups!
[9:02:45 AM] Katie Symington: I know espresso is supposed to be small, but the others are too? Lame! Is it as good as the cafe con leche de Costa Rica?
[9:04:33 AM] Troy Symington: Yeah, the cappuccinos and cafe lattes are actually kinda similar to that, but yeah, always really small cups. Expresso is litterally one small gulp and you're done.
[9:05:09 AM] Katie Symington: are they expensive?
[9:05:34 AM] Troy Symington: 1 euro for an expresso. A tid bit more for the others.
[9:06:25 AM] Katie Symington: Yum! Now please tell me about Siena. What did you do? What was your fave? You know that's where my old supervisor Aimee loves in Italy, and she named her daughter Siena.
[9:09:44 AM] Troy Symington: Weeeeell, we wen't into the Siena Duomo. It wasn't particularly big but it was really intricate and had some really cool art. Then we climed up the Mangia tower which was in the main squarea and had an AMAZING veiw of the city. The rest of our time was just exploring and enjoying the city!
[9:10:32 AM] Katie Symington: They must have towers and duomos everywhere! Will you miss them when you are back home?
[9:11:36 AM] Troy Symington: Ha, probably not. I'm kinda churched and museumed out.
[9:12:23 AM] Katie Symington: lol you will be like, "GIVE ME HAMBURGERS!" and sit on the couch and veg and ignore all culture things!
[9:13:32 AM] Troy Symington: Yes. That sound soooo awesome.
[9:14:40 AM] Katie Symington: Well enjoy them for me, and where are the pics of your recent Siena trip? I want to see culture Troy! You hardly put any photos up anymore, remember that nice camera you received for xmas? You should use it lots more!
[9:17:47 AM] Troy Symington: Have you not checked fb for a couple of days? I finally posted the switzerland pics and the cinque terre pics. Besides, Siena was only yesterday! I can procrastinate a little bit longer!
[9:18:11 AM] Katie Symington: Nope! It must be done soon! I think I saw the others, they were beautiful. :) Didn't I comment?
[9:18:35 AM] Troy Symington: Ummmmm.... no?
[9:18:48 AM] Katie Symington: I shall check later. Tell me more! MORE! mwahahahahaha!
[9:19:03 AM] Katie Symington: Tell me how you and your friends are getting along. Tired of sharing an apartment with them?
[9:20:10 AM] Troy Symington: Ha, not really. I think we all get along prett well, actually! Last night we all just hung out around the apartment (there may have been some alcohol involved), and it was really fun!
[9:20:38 AM] Katie Symington: Excellente! What kind of alcohol?
[9:21:54 AM] Troy Symington: Lots of wine and limoncello!
[9:22:12 AM] Katie Symington: lol Andra has limoncello, she says it is super sweet
[9:22:30 AM] Katie Symington: Poor boy will come back to American and have nooooo drinking for two years
[9:24:25 AM] Troy Symington: yeah, it's ridiculously sweet. A lot of restaraunts serve it for free after meals here because it's supposed to help indigestion. (Plus it's made on the Amalfi coast a few hours from here).
[9:24:44 AM] Katie Symington: How is school going? Finals coming up soon?
[9:25:33 AM] Katie Symington: lol I didn't know it was supposed to help indigestion! cute.
[9:27:02 AM] Troy Symington: Yup! Yeah, we have finals after this week unfortuanately. I'm not worried about it in any of my classes except for History, which is the only class I have a B in. But it's like 88% right now so I'm remaining optimistic.
[9:27:31 AM] Katie Symington: I shall as well! However I would suggest studying a lot to try and inch it up 2% if possible.
[9:27:39 AM] Katie Symington: Great job on having A's in your others, though!
[9:27:53 AM] Katie Symington: Is it easier in Italian class not being able to speak English now that you've had lots of practice?
[9:29:18 AM] Troy Symington: I think so. I'm definitely getting used to the only speaking italian thing while in class.
[9:29:38 AM] Katie Symington: Can you understand Italian better than you speak it? Or are they the same?
[9:30:06 AM] Troy Symington: Eh. I really don't know.
[9:30:23 AM] Katie Symington: When the teacher speaks do you understand it all?
[9:31:14 AM] Troy Symington: Of course! But she restricts here vocabulary to things that we'll actually know.
[9:31:46 AM] Katie Symington: I see. I think it is so cool that you are becomin proficient in another language.
[9:34:21 AM] Troy Symington: Ha, me to. I really wan't to take Italian 3 next year just so that I will be able to say that I speak another language.
[9:35:02 AM] Katie Symington: You should take it. I had 4 years of Spanish plus 1 college semester of Spanish 3 . . . and I barely remember any of it now. Keep using it or you really do lose it.
[9:35:15 AM] Katie Symington: You shoudl write a song in Italian.
[9:35:53 AM] Troy Symington: Ha, ok sounds good.
[9:36:29 AM] Troy Symington: I really like the song that I'm writing right now. It's pretty weird. But I'm having problems getting this one verse to sound the way I want it to.
[9:37:00 AM] Katie Symington: How is it weird?
[9:37:38 AM] Troy Symington: I'd have to show it to you. Maybe I'll post it online or something.
[9:37:57 AM] Katie Symington: yes, do!
[9:38:03 AM] Katie Symington: how though?
[9:39:48 AM] Troy Symington: Youtube is a wonderful thing...
[9:40:00 AM] Katie Symington: Oh, great idea!
[9:40:14 AM] Katie Symington: What do you think about the sailing trip to Barbados mom wants us to go on?
[9:40:41 AM] Troy Symington: I'm not sure when I go back to school that January. Other than that I think it's awesome!
[9:41:08 AM] Katie Symington: I do too.
[9:42:00 AM] Katie Symington: I just looked up Sierra, they start the 23rd of january. You could go without any troubles.
[9:42:15 AM] Troy Symington: Sweeeeeeet!
[9:42:21 AM] Katie Symington: yep!
[9:45:47 AM] Troy Symington: M'kay, I'm going to go now. I'm really into this song... say high to everyone for me at the party! Love ya!
[9:46:01 AM] Katie Symington: I love you too! Ciao!

Lazy Day

[4/15/2011 8:36:21 AM] Katie Symington: Troy troy troy troy!
[4/15/2011 8:36:23 AM] Katie Symington: Troy troy!
[4/15/2011 8:36:25 AM] Katie Symington: Troy!
[4/15/2011 8:37:13 AM] Troy Symington: Me
[4/15/2011 8:37:31 AM] Katie Symington: HOLA!
[4/15/2011 8:37:36 AM] Katie Symington: Como estas?
[4/15/2011 8:37:59 AM] Troy Symington: Bene! E tu?
[4/15/2011 8:38:26 AM] Katie Symington: Bueno!
[4/15/2011 8:38:43 AM] Katie Symington: So what are you doing?
[4/15/2011 8:39:44 AM] Troy Symington: Having a lazy day for once! I have literally done nothing today but sleep in, eat, and be lazy. It's sooooo nice to not do anything!
[4/15/2011 8:40:36 AM] Katie Symington: Sounds lovely!
[4/15/2011 8:40:43 AM] Katie Symington: Are you still on spring break?
[4/15/2011 8:41:14 AM] Troy Symington: I haven't been on spring break for 3 weeks...
[4/15/2011 8:42:07 AM] Katie Symington: er. . .
[4/15/2011 8:42:12 AM] Katie Symington: I've been really busy?...
[4/15/2011 8:42:13 AM] Katie Symington: oops
[4/15/2011 8:42:29 AM] Troy Symington: Ha, it's ok.
[4/15/2011 8:42:37 AM] Troy Symington: Whatcha doing right now?
[4/15/2011 8:43:22 AM] Katie Symington: we just got up and I made waffle batter--the super healthy except for chocolate chip batter that I posted the recipe for on my blog--and nick is making them now. Then we're going to run for a while, and I have tons of hw, and then work this afternoon
[4/15/2011 8:44:34 AM] Troy Symington: Sounds good! Except for... ya know... the hw and work part. Speaking of which, how is work going for you? Are you still enjoying it?
[4/15/2011 8:45:41 AM] Katie Symington: Yes, very much, except that yesterday I was at Carden from 9-6 with barely an hour break and those kids are talkative. I totally had a headache by the time I got home. But there wasd a French play of Alice in Wonderland they did yesterday, it was wonderful!
[4/15/2011 8:45:50 AM] Katie Symington: School is kinda killing me currently
[4/15/2011 8:45:56 AM] Katie Symington: alliteration1
[4/15/2011 8:45:58 AM] Katie Symington: !
[4/15/2011 8:47:02 AM] Troy Symington: Does "currently" technically fit in with the alliteration since it's a "c" but still makes the same sound?
[4/15/2011 8:48:30 AM] Katie Symington: i think so.
[4/15/2011 8:48:32 AM] Katie Symington: ;)
[4/15/2011 8:48:57 AM] Katie Symington: what was that student flying site ?
[4/15/2011 8:49:16 AM] Troy Symington: You mean studentuniverse.com?
[4/15/2011 8:49:20 AM] Katie Symington: yes thx
[4/15/2011 8:49:24 AM] Troy Symington: It wasn't that great...
[4/15/2011 8:49:30 AM] Katie Symington: no?
[4/15/2011 8:49:43 AM] Troy Symington: The prices were good but then when our flights kept changing it became a hassle.
[4/15/2011 8:49:52 AM] Katie Symington: true
[4/15/2011 8:50:06 AM] Troy Symington: Plus, there's no way we could change our ticket without paying a ridiculous amount.
[4/15/2011 8:50:16 AM] Katie Symington: ah
[4/15/2011 8:50:23 AM] Katie Symington: es verdad
[4/15/2011 8:50:31 AM] Troy Symington: Why? Where do ya want to go?
[4/15/2011 8:50:52 AM] Katie Symington: andra's family is giving her their timeshare time for kauai in june and she invited me and maybe Nick to go
[4/15/2011 8:50:58 AM] Katie Symington: to this gorgeous resort place
[4/15/2011 8:51:10 AM] Katie Symington: I don't think I'll go without Nick, but I'm looking at prices just in case
[4/15/2011 8:51:59 AM] Troy Symington: Oooh la la! That sounds awesome if you do decide to go!
[4/15/2011 8:52:41 AM] Katie Symington: true!
[4/15/2011 8:52:58 AM] Katie Symington: let's see what else. we are training for the 5k
[4/15/2011 8:53:12 AM] Troy Symington: Good! When is it?
[4/15/2011 8:54:14 AM] Katie Symington: may 7th at 7:30am
[4/15/2011 8:54:23 AM] Katie Symington: day before mother's day
[4/15/2011 8:54:29 AM] Katie Symington: at cal expo--right by us!
[4/15/2011 8:56:20 AM] Troy Symington: Nice! How far have you been running to train for it? (Or biking).
[4/15/2011 8:56:21 AM] Katie Symington: ack it's like 900 to hawaii!
[4/15/2011 8:56:34 AM] Katie Symington: each!
[4/15/2011 8:56:36 AM] Katie Symington: eeeeee!
[4/15/2011 8:56:53 AM] Troy Symington: For both ways? That's about what I paid to go to europe!
[4/15/2011 8:57:03 AM] Katie Symington: exactly, que ridiculo!
[4/15/2011 8:57:07 AM] Katie Symington: or something
[4/15/2011 8:57:08 AM] Katie Symington: ;)
[4/15/2011 8:58:32 AM] Troy Symington: Ha, che ridiculo!
[4/15/2011 8:58:41 AM] Katie Symington: Anyhoo we haven't actually worked out for the last few days. But when we do, it's normally every day to every other in the gym doing weight lifting and treadmill running, a mile to 1.5 at a time, and climbing the stairmaster for a mile. We bike around--I biked 9 miles on Monday going back and forth from school and 3 on Wed, but nothing yesterday because of work and I was tired. We ran 3 miles (.5 of one we walked) and Nick is pushing me to work on speed as well as endurance, agh. ;)
[4/15/2011 9:00:07 AM] Troy Symington: Ha, definitely work on endurance first. Once you can run over 5 km without stopping is when you should start working on speed.
[4/15/2011 9:02:48 AM] Troy Symington: Hey! Where did ya go?!
[4/15/2011 9:03:20 AM] Katie Symington: gah! I'm sorry I disappeared! My computer decided to restart to update!
[4/15/2011 9:04:07 AM] Troy Symington: Va bene! (It's ok)!
[4/15/2011 9:04:14 AM] Katie Symington: :)
[4/15/2011 9:04:18 AM] Katie Symington: so how is your italian coming?
[4/15/2011 9:05:44 AM] Troy Symington: Good I guess! We started talking about our final in Italian class... not gonna be fun. But I'm not too worried about it, I have like a 98% in that class or something.
[4/15/2011 9:06:00 AM] Katie Symington: excellent!
[4/15/2011 9:06:17 AM] Katie Symington: but how is your conversational italian? Can you talk to other italians in it?
[4/15/2011 9:08:26 AM] Troy Symington: Eh... not really. I can get by easily enough and have really basic conversations. But there's no way I could really converse with other italians.
[4/15/2011 9:08:41 AM] Katie Symington: well you keep working on it, you have . . . a month and four days?
[4/15/2011 9:08:43 AM] Katie Symington: right?
[4/15/2011 9:08:50 AM] Katie Symington: When does your school end?
[4/15/2011 9:09:31 AM] Troy Symington: The program ends on April 29th. So there's only like 2 weeks left! Then Alec and I are travelling around on our own for 2.5 weeks.
[4/15/2011 9:09:46 AM] Katie Symington: so where will you and Alec go?
[4/15/2011 9:11:46 AM] Troy Symington: We're going to fly to Dublin from Pisa. Then travel around Ireland and the UK for a while. We're going to hafta fly back to Frankfurt at the end though because that's where our flight is leaving from and we didn't realize when we booked it that we'd have to leave the Schengen countries.
[4/15/2011 9:12:13 AM] Katie Symington: .....oh?
[4/15/2011 9:12:22 AM] Katie Symington: Sounds gorgeous!
[4/15/2011 9:12:35 AM] Troy Symington: Yuh Huh!
[4/15/2011 9:12:41 AM] Troy Symington: We'll see!
[4/15/2011 9:13:28 AM] Katie Symington: Oh it will be. I wonder how much it will rain on you in Dublin.
[4/15/2011 9:13:50 AM] Troy Symington: Probably a lot... we'll see.
[4/15/2011 9:14:02 AM] Katie Symington: ha
[4/15/2011 9:14:07 AM] Katie Symington: you will start to mold!
[4/15/2011 9:14:11 AM] Troy Symington: I'm really excited to get to the UK and see London and the cliffs of Dover and all that!
[4/15/2011 9:17:16 AM] Katie Symington: It sounds incroyable!
[4/15/2011 9:17:27 AM] Troy Symington: Incroyable?
[4/15/2011 9:17:28 AM] Katie Symington: Mom and I were looking thru her trip to England the other day, showing me Wales and more
[4/15/2011 9:17:36 AM] Katie Symington: Yes I speak as I spell
[4/15/2011 9:17:38 AM] Katie Symington: I spell as I speak
[4/15/2011 9:17:49 AM] Katie Symington: Okay, whta is it supposed to be?
[4/15/2011 9:18:03 AM] Troy Symington: What's what?
[4/15/2011 9:18:11 AM] Katie Symington: incredible!
[4/15/2011 9:18:21 AM] Troy Symington: Right...
[4/15/2011 9:19:54 AM] Troy Symington: How long did mom go to England back in the day?
[4/15/2011 9:20:10 AM] Katie Symington: um...
[4/15/2011 9:20:13 AM] Katie Symington: ??
[4/15/2011 9:20:20 AM] Katie Symington: some amount of time
[4/15/2011 9:20:46 AM] Troy Symington: Very specific. : )
[4/15/2011 9:21:59 AM] Katie Symington: lol
[4/15/2011 9:22:13 AM] Katie Symington: I am looking more seriously at the hawaii trip with Andra . . . it looks pretty damn awesome now. It would be lik 140 a day for me for ten days
[4/15/2011 9:22:23 AM] Katie Symington: for food, airfare, and accomodations
[4/15/2011 9:22:27 AM] Katie Symington: That's like a cruise ship
[4/15/2011 9:22:35 AM] Katie Symington: except with more hawaii time
[4/15/2011 9:23:39 AM] Troy Symington: I gotcha. Sounds pretty sweet! Stupid money though... it looks like I'm going to need to get a new car when I get back. No clue how I'm going to afford anything.
[4/15/2011 9:27:15 AM] Katie Symington: Uhoh
[4/15/2011 9:27:21 AM] Katie Symington: Good thing you are living at home still bud
[4/15/2011 9:27:24 AM] Katie Symington: that helps!
[4/15/2011 9:27:29 AM] Katie Symington: :)
[4/15/2011 9:27:38 AM] Katie Symington: Is your civic in that bad of shape?
[4/15/2011 9:27:40 AM] Katie Symington: from water damage?
[4/15/2011 9:28:25 AM] Troy Symington: Yup. There's that leak in the trunk, and mom just found another leak in the front, plus the sun roof is broken, and everything else is worn down and on the verge of breaking!
[4/15/2011 9:28:35 AM] Katie Symington: ....uhoh
[4/15/2011 9:28:39 AM] Katie Symington: that is no good!
[4/15/2011 9:29:29 AM] Troy Symington: The problem is I'm going to have 0 money when I get back! And I still need to buy musical item thingies! Like I'm going to need to buy like a $400 computer program for Musical Theory!
[4/15/2011 9:53:56 AM] Katie Symington: Oops. I forgot about you. Sorry!

[4/5/2011 11:40:21 PM] Katie Symington: As in: What you've been doing and what you're studying and what you will be doing, because dude, I haven't talked to you indays!
[4/5/2011 11:40:47 PM] Troy Symington: Katie. I can't talk right now. Love you! Bye!
[4/5/2011 11:48:21 PM] Katie Symington: Poohead. I love you too. Ninight.

Hours Later . . .

[12:07:36 PM] Katie Symington: Hey you
[12:07:59 PM] Troy Symington: Hey!
[12:08:28 PM] Katie Symington: Can you talk now, Mr. Brisk?
[12:08:58 PM] Troy Symington: Ha, better hurry, cuz we're gonna leave soon to hang out with people.
[12:09:08 PM] Katie Symington: Well catch me up! What have you been up to?
[12:09:54 PM] Troy Symington: School! Homework! Planning the weekend in Cinque Terre! Then on sunday we're going to another soccer game with like 20 people from the program!
[12:12:41 PM] Katie Symington: are you playing or watching
[12:13:00 PM] Katie Symington: and what are u doing in ct?
[12:16:02 PM] Troy Symington: Watching. It's the Florence team vs the Milan team.
[12:16:24 PM] Troy Symington: We're just going to hike and enjoy the beach in ct! It will be a vacation from a vacation!
[12:16:48 PM] Katie Symington: sounds lovely.
[12:16:55 PM] Katie Symington: how are the texas girls?
[12:19:27 PM] Troy Symington: Ummmm... what? You mean the girls we met in Switzerland?
[12:19:49 PM] Katie Symington: perhaps
[12:20:06 PM] Troy Symington: Haven't seen them since Switzerland.
[12:25:07 PM] Katie Symington: interesting. How about the Firenze girls?
[12:26:03 PM] Troy Symington: Hahahahahahahaha! ....no. I've still hardly even TALKED to girls from Firenze. Italiand girls DO NOT go for American guys.
[12:26:32 PM] Katie Symington: lol well at least u can admire la bella figura, yeah?
[12:26:45 PM] Troy Symington: Ha, definitely.
[12:27:31 PM] Katie Symington: are the italian boys super cute? You should take pictures for meeee!
[12:28:14 PM] Troy Symington: Omg! They are sooooo totally thuper cute and like, stuff!!!!!!!!!
[12:28:26 PM] Troy Symington: How would I know these things?????
[12:28:27 PM] Katie Symington: um, you just got stereptypical gay guy lisp
[12:28:46 PM] Katie Symington: I dunno! Are there a lot of attractive guys around, more than the US?
[12:28:52 PM] Troy Symington: That was the point... it's so hard to convey accents via text.
[12:29:01 PM] Katie Symington: racist! ;)
[12:30:01 PM] Troy Symington: Again... how would I know these things. And how is that racist in any way?
[12:31:09 PM] Katie Symington: Um, it's kind of a joke with Nick. Whenever someone says something that could be construed as prejudiced we ususally say "Racist!" and then try to figure out what that actually would be
[12:31:26 PM] Katie Symington: Man, I'm gonna have to edit this post to put it on the Florence blog
[12:32:14 PM] Troy Symington: Ha, sorry about that! Soooooo... what have you been up to?
[12:32:30 PM] Katie Symington: Hmm. I have been exercising a lot, and eating healthier. Ish.
[12:32:52 PM] Katie Symington: If you check out serendipity you will see some of my yummy recent dinners/breakfasts and my running ness
[12:33:09 PM] Katie Symington: And besides that , you know how we've only got 5-6 weeks of school left! I've got lots of papers and group projects and midterms coming due, ACK!
[12:35:56 PM] Troy Symington: Oh noes! Yeah, the whole school thing is pretty easy over here with the exception of my freaking WORLD HISTORY CLASS!!!! The teacher is really nice but she grades hard and I can never figure out what she wan't us to write! Anywho... are you thinking about classes for next semester? Our registration is just a couple of weeks.
[12:36:22 PM] Katie Symington: Yes, I have an appointment with a counselor on Tuesday to make a 2 year plan, and I can register on the 21st, I think.
[12:36:28 PM] Katie Symington: It's crazy how fast this semester went by!
[12:36:49 PM] Katie Symington: Speaking, of, we have class to go to now. Gotta go bud. Love you!
[12:41:30 PM] Troy Symington: Love ya! Bye!

Firenze Again

[10:22:22 AM] Katie Symington: troy-o!
[10:23:14 AM] Troy Symington: Hey! I just got back into Firenze like 10 minutes ago and I'm already talking to both you and mom!
[10:25:35 AM] Katie Symington: wow, busy boy! I won't keep you long, but is everything all good?
[10:26:32 AM] Troy Symington: Yup. Just about to start making dinner, so yeah, can't talk long.
[10:26:57 AM] Katie Symington: Okay, have a good dinner and a good night and I will talk to you later! I am going on a bike ride with nick's whole family today and then doing hw, fun times. ;) Love you!
[10:27:43 AM] Troy Symington: Ok! Have fun with that! Get your endurance up for that race! Love ya!
[10:28:14 AM] Katie Symington: :)
[3:26:17 PM] Katie Symington: 12 miles biked!
[3:27:39 PM] Troy Symington: Nice! But it's really late for me and I have school in the morning so I'm going to go now! Love ya!
[3:27:57 PM] Katie Symington: Have a good day tomorrow, fun at school and all, love you too! ninight!

Hiking and Biking

[12:04:35 PM] Katie Symington: Troy-o!
[12:05:37 PM] Troy Symington: Well, hi!
[12:05:52 PM] Katie Symington: Hey! I'm talking to mom right now. What are you up to?
[12:06:17 PM] Troy Symington: Sitting in my hostel in the Swiss Alps!
[12:06:42 PM] Katie Symington: Dude, how awesome is it that you can even say that? ;
[12:06:45 PM] Katie Symington: )
[12:07:14 PM] Troy Symington: I know, right?
[12:07:57 PM] Katie Symington: Super coolio!
[12:08:03 PM] Katie Symington: What did you do today?
[12:08:57 PM] Troy Symington: Hiked around the mountains all day! That's seriously all we did. What are you up to?
[12:10:30 PM] Katie Symington: I am talking with mom and planning out our day. Nick and I will go jogging outside soon--it is BEAUTIFUL out, today will probably be in the eighties again. Mom might come visit us for a bit, maybe dad too, and I want to get some flowers for our patio. Then we are havin dinner with Nick's parents--homemade burgers, yum! Mom and Dad are going out for dinner for their anniversary, which I hope you said congrats to them about!
[12:11:23 PM] Troy Symington: I... might have forgotten it...
[12:12:19 PM] Katie Symington: Uh-oh!
[12:12:39 PM] Katie Symington: You'd better get a postcard or something from Switzerland and send it to them (or keep it and hand it over) because it's neutral territory and they can't get mad at you. ;)
[12:12:56 PM] Katie Symington: It was their 31st anniversary!
[12:13:02 PM] Katie Symington: they will go out probably tonight
[12:13:49 PM] Troy Symington: Very nice! And I don't know how anyone expects me to remember when their anniversary is. The only reason I even remember YOUR birthday is because it's the day after mine!
[12:14:18 PM] Katie Symington: lol
[12:14:34 PM] Katie Symington: Well hmm. I don't know how to help you there.
[12:14:47 PM] Katie Symington: I just remember it
[12:14:50 PM] Katie Symington: ;)
[12:14:57 PM] Katie Symington: Oh well. But perhaps you could give them a belated happy anniversary message on facebook
[12:15:36 PM] Troy Symington: Okay, sounds like a plan.
[12:15:56 PM] Katie Symington: :)
[12:16:00 PM] Katie Symington: What will you do tomorrow?
[12:16:06 PM] Katie Symington: And how is your hostel? Is it nice?
[12:16:55 PM] Troy Symington: Our hostel is pretty standard. It was a bit overpriced just like everything over here in Switzerland (plus this is a total tourist town). But the people are really nice!
[12:18:20 PM] Katie Symington: Awesome! I've never been to a hostel though bud. Can you describe it a bit better?
[12:20:01 PM] Troy Symington: Ummmm... we're in a dorm. Two bunk beds so it fits six people total. But by some stroke of luck we're the only ones in the room! The bathrooms and showers are downstairs, and this hostel is weird and makes you take off your shoes before you go to your room.
[12:20:42 PM] Katie Symington: LOL
[12:20:47 PM] Katie Symington: sounds like fun!
[12:20:55 PM] Katie Symington: What day do you come back again? Sorry I keep forgetting ;)
[12:21:08 PM] Troy Symington: May 19th.
[12:22:40 PM] Katie Symington: I just registered for the Race for the Cure on May 7th
[12:22:42 PM] Katie Symington: :)
[12:23:05 PM] Troy Symington: Do tell...
[12:23:50 PM] Katie Symington: It is a 5k race for the breastcancer cure--you know, Susan G Komen thingimagigger
[12:24:00 PM] Katie Symington: It's right by our apartment and starts at 7:30am
[12:24:05 PM] Katie Symington: I get a t-shirt for my $40!
[12:24:12 PM] Katie Symington: Nick and Andra will do it with me :D
[12:24:22 PM] Troy Symington: Oh wow! Are you gonna practice for it?
[12:25:18 PM] Katie Symington: Definitely! Otherwise I would be totally urgh on the day!
[12:25:45 PM] Katie Symington: I have been running in the gym here with Nick, and I can do 1.5 miles without being too dead. but I definitely need to work up to 3.1! We are goin for a jog outside soon.
[12:26:59 PM] Troy Symington: Ha! That's awesome. Yeah, 5k really isn't as far as it seems. When Quentin put on the run in the park it was a 5k. And I think I ran that pretty well.
[12:27:20 PM] Katie Symington: Cuz you are AWESOME
[12:27:26 PM] Katie Symington: I have never run 3.1 miles, I think.
[12:27:43 PM] Katie Symington: Unless I did in those 20 minute runs we did in pe in weimar
[12:27:51 PM] Katie Symington: But it is a goal for me to work up to!
[12:27:52 PM] Katie Symington: :)
[12:27:58 PM] Katie Symington: Nick and I biked 16 miles yesterday!
[12:28:52 PM] Troy Symington: That's awesome! There's a lot of mountain biking trails around here and it really makes me miss mountain biking. Is there any particular reason you guys bikes 16 miles?
[12:30:43 PM] Katie Symington: Nope. We wanted to go for a bike ride, and around 8 miles or so we realized we had to get back for me to go to work. I'm glad we turned around then though, because by the time we finished getting home my endurance was waning! :)
[12:31:48 PM] Troy Symington: I bet! Back when I was biking a lot we usually only did about 10-15 miles (but that was over hills and trails).
[12:32:00 PM] Katie Symington: Nice!
[12:32:35 PM] Katie Symington: Okay bud, I am gonna get going. I need to make Nick get up and jog! :)
[12:32:41 PM] Katie Symington: I love you! Be safe and have tons of fun, okay?
[12:32:51 PM] Katie Symington: Mwah!
[12:33:21 PM] Troy Symington: Do I have to be safe?
[12:34:13 PM] Katie Symington: YES
[12:34:16 PM] Katie Symington: PBBBT
[12:34:23 PM] Katie Symington: *that was a raspberry*
[12:34:35 PM] Troy Symington: *sigh*
[12:34:36 PM] Troy Symington: Fine.
[12:34:41 PM] Katie Symington: lol ciao dude. love ya!
[12:34:43 PM] Troy Symington: Love ya!
[12:34:54 PM] Troy Symington: Ciao!

Switzerland!

Lisa Symington 12:14 PM
Hey buddy, are you there?
Troy Symington 12:14 PM
Hey Ma!
Lisa Symington 12:15 PM
Where are you?
Troy Symington 12:15 PM
In my hostel in Switzerland!
Lisa Symington 12:15 PM
Care to share? Like in case you die and I have to come and pick up your body?
Troy Symington 12:16 PM
Ha, we're in the Valley Hostel in Lauterbrunnen in the Swiss Alps!
Lisa Symington 12:16 PM
You're supposed to let me know where you are, at least WHICH COUNTRY YOU ARE IN!!
12:17 PM
You bad boy! So, how is Switzerland? and the alps? and how cold/snowy is it?
Troy Symington 12:21 PM
Not very cold at all! And the valley we're in has hardly any snow. It's a big carved out glacier valley with sheer cliffs. It's very much like yosemite. And out of our hostel window we can see Jungfrau, the highest point of the alps!
Lisa Symington 12:21 PM
Sounds perfect. I was just looking at the website for the hostel and it is gorgeous. Are mosquitos out?
12:22 PM
You will need to go hiking on some of those beautiful trail I saw in the photos
Troy Symington 12:24 PM
As far as I've seen there have been 0 mosquitos (I think it might be a little too cold). It got a lot colder once the sun set. Tomorrow we're going to go hiking around for most of the day. That's more or less the entiretly of our plans, because the trains around here are SO FREAKING EXPENSIVE!!!
Lisa Symington 12:27 PM
Ooh, sorry about the trains.... but it looks like a good place to be stuck and you can relax not having to cram another city/spot in this weekend. How long did it take to get there? another night train?
Troy Symington 12:28 PM
Yeah, it took about 5 hours by train... and it was an expensive frikken train.
Lisa Symington 12:28 PM
Who is with you?
Troy Symington 12:29 PM
Alec and Nate.
Lisa Symington 12:29 PM
Great. More geek photos
12:30 PM
Any night life in your little town?
Troy Symington 12:31 PM
Ha, we walked through it a little while ago at about 9 and I think even the pub was closed.
Lisa Symington 12:32 PM
I guess that's a NO then... Any fun people in the hostel with you?
Troy Symington 12:33 PM
We met some girls from Texas on the train to Interlaken and ran in to them later in the day and walked with them for a bit, but their hostel is back down in Interlaken so we're not sure if we'll see them again.
Lisa Symington 12:33 PM
Sounds like a quiet night then ....
Troy Symington 12:36 PM
Yup. This entire place is marketed towards adreneline junkies. The only things to do in these towns is skiing, skydiving, hiking, base jumping, mountain biking, ect. So there's absolutely no nightlife. We're getting up early to enjoy the sunshine!
Lisa Symington 12:37 PM
OK, but I can't condone base jumping.....
Troy Symington 12:37 PM
If only I had the money...
Lisa Symington 12:37 PM
It's a good thing you're poor then, haha.
Troy Symington 12:38 PM
But I'll have the money eventually and then there'll be nothing you can do to stop me! Muhahahaha!
Lisa Symington 12:40 PM
Technically, maybe... but I'll try to think of something! We are having a really gorgeous day. I guess the weather was good earlier in the week, but I missed it at work. I have all the windows open now and recently returned from walking the circle with the dogs. Now I need to go work outside.
12:41 PM
You have a good night's sleep and a fun day tomorrow. Please try to stay in touch!
Troy Symington 12:42 PM
I'll try! I love ya!
Lisa Symington 12:43 PM
Love you too!
